Gracie Convert : Sat in My Bedroom

gracie-convert-cdGracie Convert is a British/French vocalist and songwriter based in London. Her contemporary R&B sounds have garnered support from tastemakers such as Notion Magazine, Guap Mag, and Earmilk and received National radio backing from the likes of Jamz Supernova (BBC 1xtra), Tom Robinson (BBC6), Jyoty (RINSE FM) and BBC Introducing. Convert is now releasing an emotional lockdown ballad titled “Sat in My Bedroom.”

Opening with a dreamy descending vocal part sung in harmony, “Sat in My Bedroom” begins its tale with Convert’s bedroom tinged singing leading the way. The bright electric guitar is lightly strummed to a steady drum pattern. There is absolutely an R&B element to the rhythm and multi-layered vocals. Convert’s singing also has inflections and phrasing that can be traced to the R&B stuff and has strong electro-pop and indie-pop leanings.

“Sat in My Bedroom” is another strong outing for this London songstress; her tone and delivery is smooth and sensual. She has a robust, soulful sound that you will want to hear again and again.

About The Author
Shannon Smith
A fan of music my entire life. Should that be enough, well it is for me. Who buys music, the fans. Who listens to music, the fans. Like me, there are many like-minded individuals that daily search for meaningful and new music to add to their playlist, their soundtrack of life. A life without music would Bb. Yes, I have seen that saying floating around for years, and truth is, its #truth. So, may I introduce you to Shannon Smith (me). I am the editor. A music junkie that can’t get enough music in my life. A nerd (proudly), with some mad love for technology and design. It is that desire that sparked Sound in Review. Life is busy, the reviews are meant to ultimately introduce and briefly talk about the music. We have a section called SIR Quote: this is my way of saying thank you, to the countless artists making the world a place of expression. Show yours by rating each artists album, just as we have (collectively as writers), to show your support for your favorite artist.
