The Driver Era : Keep Moving Forward Review

The-Driver-Era-CoverThe Driver Era is an electronic duet of Ross and Rocky Lynch. The duet has made a reputation for creating “dance and funk vibes.” Their latest single, “Keep Moving Forward,” holds true to their sound and brings us a dance track with a house beat and optimistic lyrics. The accompanying Tate Warner-directed video laces clips of the duo during a photoshoot walking in and out of a frame in a trippy way, combining those images with closeups of the brothers’ faces.

“‘Keep Moving Forward’ is about finding the new, whatever that may be,” the brothers stated when speaking on the inspiration behind the track. “Moving past a specific experience, bypassing influences, or discovering new heights – we want the listener to come up with their own interpretation.” Vocalist Nikka Costa joins The Driver Era and says, “I’m super digging this track right now,” Nikka Costa describes her collaboration with The Driver Era. “It’s taking me back to a future summer feeling. I’m so happy to be a part of it!” The funky bassline lines up with the dance beat in the drums as the synth churn around the vocalist. The melody is also colored with two male voices and a female, swirling the sound with excitement.

The Driver Era was formed in 2018 when the two brothers went on hiatus from being members of R5 with their siblings Rydel, Riker, and Ellington Ratliff. However, the duet continues to have successful collaborations and tracks. “Keep Moving Forward” is enjoyable and will add to your summer playlist.

About The Author
Shannon Smith
A fan of music my entire life. Should that be enough, well it is for me. Who buys music, the fans. Who listens to music, the fans. Like me, there are many like-minded individuals that daily search for meaningful and new music to add to their playlist, their soundtrack of life. A life without music would Bb. Yes, I have seen that saying floating around for years, and truth is, its #truth. So, may I introduce you to Shannon Smith (me). I am the editor. A music junkie that can’t get enough music in my life. A nerd (proudly), with some mad love for technology and design. It is that desire that sparked Sound in Review. Life is busy, the reviews are meant to ultimately introduce and briefly talk about the music. We have a section called SIR Quote: this is my way of saying thank you, to the countless artists making the world a place of expression. Show yours by rating each artists album, just as we have (collectively as writers), to show your support for your favorite artist.
