Thomas Gold & Kosling: Wildest Dream Review

thomas-gold-sir-cdThomas Gold is a dance music producer that is considered one of the most well-known DJ and producer in the las decade. The German born artist set his impact in 2008 when his now-iconic remix of Delirium’s “Silence” was named Beatport’s “Best Progressive House Song” of the year. Gold released music on the following major labels including: Armada, Axtone, Size, Toolroom, Spinnin’ and Revealed; his crowning success thus far has been “Magic” on Armada has over 55M streams on Spotify. His electrifying abilities as a live performer have earned him a global following and headlining gigs everywhere from festivals like Ultra, EDC, Coachella, Mysteryland, and Tomorrowland, and clubs such as Pacha, Ushuaia, Amnesia and more. Recently Gold collaborated with Instagram influencer Montana Tucker on “Begin Again,” and now returns to Protocol with “Wildest Dream.” Gold and Kosling team up for an inspiring single, “Wildest Dream” featuring the vocals of Canadian singer, songwriter and producer Matthew Steeper. The single is out now on Protocol Recordings.

“Wildest Dream” is first and foremost a dance track and as such, it has to have a beat that inspires one to dance. Gold and Kosling hits on the spot with this one; with a groove that will make you wanna move it! The track has a slight effect on the vocals, making it sound a little elctro-pop with influence of House, but the melody is still enjoyable. Of course, the drops are there and the synth melodies and big driving bass. Gold lets the energy relax for sections, with piano swirling in the background as he methodically builds the track back to a dance frenzy. This is a winning formula, but will it match his other collaborations? Well, we will have to wait and see, but until then “Wildest Dream” will keep you moving.

“Wildest Dream” is something a little different from the Gold and Kosling collaboration. There is certainly a dance vibe, but also a retro-progressive house feel too. It his good to hear a positive themed dance track that motivates one to move.  “Wildest Dream” is another winner from Gold and Kosling’s production with Steeper turning in soulful vocal line.
