Travis Denning is a native of Warner Robins, Georgia. The country singer and songwriter has over 134 million streams worldwide, Denning has been spotlighted by Billboard for his “future star power” and was selected this past year as an Opry NextStage recipient and CMA KixStart Artist, as he makes his mark within the industry. He has written songs for artists such as Jason Aldean, Justin Moore, Michael Ray, and Chase Rice. Denning is now releasing Beer’s Better Cold. Denning explains, “I am so excited to finally announce my first EP,” shared Denning. “I’ve been blown away by the way the fans have grasped onto the songs so far, and I can’t wait to see how they like the new ones. These songs mean a lot to me because they’re all a part of my story in one way or another. Here’s to the first full chapter.”
The collection of six songs opens with a catchy melody titled, “Where That Beer’s Been.” With a spanky guitar figure setting the mood, Denning’s Southern husky voice sings a story of friends, beer, and life. The energy of the song is contagious as the big chorus drives the tune forward. The guitar parts are excellent. Denning varies his voice with each pass, keeping the song ever fresh and evolving.
A reflective ballad ends the set with “Sittin’ By A Fire,” which tells the story of Denning’s roots and young love. His voice is full and rich as he brings the Southern draw out in all the right places. The emotion he sings of is something we can all relate to and enjoy. The song has a form that has different levels of intensity, and Denning matches them with his vocal inflection and presence.
Travis Denning’s Beer’s Better Cold is a collection of six songs the spans various moods, but Denning’s tasteful Southern country style is the glue. The is a little classic country mixed with modern country here. So, everyone should find a little something to enjoy a cold one too.
