MaWayy Blame Review

mawayy-coverMaWayy formed when Iranian-American Emmy Award-winning Brian Wayy and Iranian producer, artist and DJ Masoud Fouladi Moghaddam decided to form a collaboration. The electronic dance beats combined with both artists outstanding productions skills create an energetic electric pop hybrid sound that as a result will keep you dancing and singing with abandon.  In 2015, they started an EDM project, called MaWayy (Masoud and Wayy). Consequently Their first single “Wrong,” released in 2017 under Teletunez division HitTunez and Blanco Y Negro, held number 42 on the Billboard Dance Club Songs Chart in May 2018 for three weeks. It went on to become the number one record on WCPY, Dance Factory FM station in Chicago. “Wrong,” was also featured on Spotify’s biggest electronic playlist Mint and to date has now achieved over 1.4 million YouTube views and over 1.1 million streams on Spotify.

Furthermore, MaWayy has a new single out titled “Blame.” With a danceable uplifting EDM beat and lush vocals, the track builds to a satisfying drop. The duets production skill are brilliant and the melody has pop styling that makes this track standout and has the ability to pull in a wide listenership. Each new element layers in, building a subtle tapestry of sounds and rhythms with smokin dub influences. This duet understands what people want to hear!

Finally, MaWayy offers a mesmerizing sound that sends goosebumps all over your body. Sensual and layered in a way that ignites the electronic production value. The addition of dub sections, and hook oriented lyrics take this track to a higher level in EDM.

About The Author
Shannon Smith
A fan of music my entire life. Should that be enough, well it is for me. Who buys music, the fans. Who listens to music, the fans. Like me, there are many like-minded individuals that daily search for meaningful and new music to add to their playlist, their soundtrack of life. A life without music would Bb. Yes, I have seen that saying floating around for years, and truth is, its #truth. So, may I introduce you to Shannon Smith (me). I am the editor. A music junkie that can’t get enough music in my life. A nerd (proudly), with some mad love for technology and design. It is that desire that sparked Sound in Review. Life is busy, the reviews are meant to ultimately introduce and briefly talk about the music. We have a section called SIR Quote: this is my way of saying thank you, to the countless artists making the world a place of expression. Show yours by rating each artists album, just as we have (collectively as writers), to show your support for your favorite artist.
