Sofi Bonde : On Fire Review

sofi-bonde-cdSofi Bonde is a Swedish pop/rock star that hit the scene with her debut album One in 2001. Her follow-up EP All Up to Me and full-length Fighting Gravity were released on Subatomic Records in 2005 and 2006, respectively. She is now releasing her latest single called “On Fire” on the Universal Music AB label. The small-framed blonde powerhouse will surprise you with her vocal presence.

“On Fire” straddles the lines between pop and rock, with the latter taking more of the lead as the guitar riff drives the song. Bonde’s singing is sexy, laid-back, even nonchalant at times. Pair that with the words, and it creates a tension that is mirrored in the song’s arrangement—the driving verse paired against the fun-loving popish chorus. There is a punkish attitude to the bridge as the song pushes along its earworm melody. Bonde’s sound on Universal Music is a great fit.

Bonde’s latest single lights up the airwaves with “On Fire.” The multi-talented artist has a gem with this one; pick it up, stream it, or download it; get it!

About The Author
Shannon Smith
A fan of music my entire life. Should that be enough, well it is for me. Who buys music, the fans. Who listens to music, the fans. Like me, there are many like-minded individuals that daily search for meaningful and new music to add to their playlist, their soundtrack of life. A life without music would Bb. Yes, I have seen that saying floating around for years, and truth is, its #truth. So, may I introduce you to Shannon Smith (me). I am the editor. A music junkie that can’t get enough music in my life. A nerd (proudly), with some mad love for technology and design. It is that desire that sparked Sound in Review. Life is busy, the reviews are meant to ultimately introduce and briefly talk about the music. We have a section called SIR Quote: this is my way of saying thank you, to the countless artists making the world a place of expression. Show yours by rating each artists album, just as we have (collectively as writers), to show your support for your favorite artist.
